Apple jelly

Prep time: 10 minutes 
Cooking time: 5 minutes + cooling 
Makes: ⅔ cup; 2 serves of jelly 
Chilling time: approximately 2 hours
Makes: approximately 750mL 


1 cup clear apple juice
2 teaspoons powdered gelatine
2 scoops EleCare®

  1. Pour the juice into a small saucepan and sprinkle with gelatine. When the gelatine is absorbed, place over a medium heat, bring to the boil and simmer gently for 2 minutes.
  2. Cool completely.
  3. Stir in EleCare® and mix well. Rinse 2 small moulds with cold water or spray lightly with rice bran oil spray and pour in the jelly mixture. Refrigerate until set.


  • Use any fruit juice which infant accepts for these jellies. You can also use a combination of juice and fruit purée. Boil the juice with the gelatine and then combine with the fruit purée before cooling and adding EleCare®.
  • Boiling the gelatine is important as it allows the added sulphur dioxide to evaporate.
